There was a time when Ellone was able to move forwards and backwards through time. Not only herself, but others. Despite her desire to change the past, at one time, the first time, before the endless circle began, she journeyed only forward to the future, seeking a way to reunite Laguna with Raine before Raine’s child would be born. In her youth however, she had not yet developed full control over her power and slipped too far forward. This was unfortunate in many ways. Ellone witnessed Ultimecia in a battle with thousands of futuristic looking soldiers, more oddly dressed than Kiros had been. With single swipes of her hand casting powerful spells, the sorceress Ultimecia defeated them by the hundreds until only the vehicles remained firing automatically at her. It was then, that Ultimecia revealed another part of her power. She summoned to her side a Guardian Force like none Ellone had ever seen. Tall and fierce, with horns similar to Ultimecia’s making one wonder who had them first…The Guardian force stomped a hoof…an ice covered hoof, the other three legs twitched and moved as if eager to join the fray…one seemed to be a river flowing violently down to the ground. Another leg was flowing lava cooling to black as it hit the earth, but never ending. The final leg was crumbling rock and earth. One hand was bright and glowing pure beams of white light from what could have been her palm. And the other hand was possibly the most active of all a tornado spinning round gathering grass and dirt from around it and spewing it out away from the Guardian Forces body.
The Guardian Force breathed in deeply through her nose, then the tail snapped side to side sending loud peels of thunder through the air with each movement. Rearing up on her hind legs the centaur like Guardian turned quickly, the tail made not of horse hair, but bolts of electricity lashed at the machines and vehicles destroying each one completely, leaving them charred and useless. Small but unafraid and knowing that if her dear Uncle Laguna could possess this Guardian Force he would have easily been able to rescue her in time to return to Raine, Ellone stepped forward calling out to the Sorceress. Ultimecia turned towards the girl, seeing the odd way the girl was dressed and knowing without needing to be told that she was not from this time, Ultimecia bowed her head slightly, accepting Ellone’s challenge knowing that she should be the only one able to move into the future, but she was fooled. Ellone did not want to fight Ultimecia, she wanted the opportunity to draw that Guardian Force. The moment the battle began before Ultimecia could realize what was happening, Ellone drew the Guardian away from her, and escaped back to her own time. Upon junctioning the powerful Guardian Force to herself, Ellone forgot her ability to move forward into time, knowing she could go back however she began using that to attempt to reunite Laguna and Raine.
However, Ultimecia having lost her most powerful GF used the echo of Ellone’s power to travel back through time; following the girl, intent on retrieving what was stolen and of course destroying the girl. But, when Ultimecia saw the full extent of Ellone’s ability, she stopped and in her anger she devised the scheme to compress time. Using Ellone she would control all time past present and future all at once, but she was not the only sorceress near the girl. A black haired woman had entered the room and smiled at Ellone for a moment before sensing something amiss. Ultimecia knew she could do nothing until she had gauged this sorceress’s power. After all without her Guardian Force she was weaker. So Ultimecia withdrew for a time, Observing until Edea, the black haired sorceress sensing danger to Ellone, sent her away to protect her, to hide her. Ultimecia lost track of the girl, and again Ultimecia was enraged. Without hesitation she took possession of Edea’s body and thus began the never ending cycle. Later upon her defeat Ultimecia returned to the past when she had first seen the Sorceress Edea, the first that she had possessed. However, broken and on the verge of death Edea sensed something different, and instead of immediately fearing for Ellone’s life, she nearly took pity on the dying woman, allowing her to possess her body, instantly Edea knew her mistake and fought the possession as long as she could, still sending the girl Ellone away; until Ultimecia was defeated once more and again went back to that moment when Edea first met her, and now they are trapped in this infinite circle.
